Mala’a is a multi-phase national initiative that enables access to credit through Information Services, Credit Rating, Creditworthiness and Solvency Insights for individuals and corporates.
Oman Credit and Financial Information Centre (Mala’a) was established by Royal Decree 38/2019 issued on 8th May 2019 as an independent organization under the supervision of the Central Bank of Oman with financial and administrative independence.
What does Mala’a Report contain?
Mala’a Report consists of multiple sections and includes information about credit facilities and repayment history for the last 24 months. The bilingual report contains demographics, firmographics, Mala’a Score, Probability of Default, Mala’a Score History, Guarantor, Collaterals, Inquiries, Bounced Cheques, and Disputes.
The Dashboard of Mala’a Reports gives a consolidated view of information that allows quick decision-making.
All credit providers have internal policies and procedures to assess credit risk. Mala’a Report and Mala’a Score are tools used in Credit Risk Management. It is up to the credit providers discretion to grant or deny a credit facility based on their internal policies, and not Mala’a’s decision.
